What would you do if you have $11.2 Million?
Give it away? Are you nuts?! Well, not for the Canadian couple Violet and Allen Large who won $11,255,272 from the lottery and gave almost all of it away (98 percent).
Violet Large was going through a chemotherapy last July when they knew they got the jackpot from the lottery, but instead of spending the money for themselves, they decided to dole it out to the family members, to the local fire department, churches, cemeteries, the Red Cross, the Salvation Army, hospitals, where Violet underwent her cancer treatment, and organizations that fight cancer, diabetes and Alzheimer's disease and continued to other organizations they soon added to the list.
The couple said the money was a headache with all the calls they received from people who got the news and that there might just people who will take advantage of them.
They retained a mere 2 percent of the winnings for the rainy days.
They were happy donating $11 Million. Violet said "Money can't buy you health or happiness".
"That money that we won was nothing. We have each other." Violet's husband, Allen, also told a reporter.
